Eli's 3rd birthday party!

We had a party at one of Eli's favorite places, Goin' Bananas. I scheduled it on his actual birthday, which was on Good Friday this year. It was much cheaper to do a weekday party there, so it worked out great! About 20 of Eli's friends came, and they had a blast! I made a cake according to Eli's very specific request: a chocolate cake with chocolate icing and a dump truck, a front loader, and an excavator on top. The cake as well as the party was a success! I now have a 3 year old??

House Addition

Our house is about done! The shelves in the closets are being installed now and then painted, then it's pretty much done! It's been quite an adventure includung ups and downs but very worth it. I think it's taken about 6 weeks to complete, which isn't bad. Now, on to cleaning and organizing!

I tried this slide show since there were several pictures,so hope you like it!

I think he likes it!

A couple weeks ago Jed ate some solid food for the first time. I gave him mashed bananas mixed with a little Mama's milk. As usual, he just smiled and seemed to like it just fine!

My baby is 6 months old?

Jed is getting to be so big and doing big baby things. He had his appointment last Monday, and here are the stats: 27.5 inches long (90th percentile), 18 lbs. (50th percentile). So he's long and skinny. Not really that surprising. I do feel like he's smaller since Eli was always off the charts on everything.

Jed is mobile! He's not sitting up yet but close. I'm sure he's thinking, "why would I want to sit when I have the skills to move?". Jed is rolling like a pro and scooting everywhere. He gets on his elbows and uses his arms to pull himself forward while sticking his bottom up and pushing with his toes. He kinda looks like an inch worm scooting around. Jed definitely knows what he's after when he scoots. Now that Jed is playing with toys and able to get many things he's after, I'm having to teach the boys how to share their toys. I know this concept will be an on-going lesson!

Jed has graduated to a bath seat instead of the baby tub and loves it! He's always loved taking a bath. Now the boys can take a bath together, which is both convenient and fun!

We also pulled out the jumper seat for Jed to try. He likes this, too. He hasn't quite got the hang of full-on jumping yet, but I know that will come soon. For now, he just happily turns, sways, and bounces a little.

Farmer John

Here's our garden. I think it's pretty impressive! It's all John's doing. We have several types of lettuce, cabbage, chard, kale, onions, green onions, garlic, artichoke, tomato, watermelon, and more. I can't keep track! We've also got herbs in the front yard. I love going grocery shopping in the yard, and enjoy eating the food, too! Is it okay for me to call the garden mine when I don't actually do any of the gardening? I just harvest, cook, and eat!

Dallas Trip

We were in Dallas last week all week to see family and get away from our crazy house and construction noise. We had a little early birthday party for Eli, played with cousins Grayson and Garrett, saw some of my friends, and just hung out with family. The boys did great this time traveling in the car. On the way back, we didn't even stop and there was no crying, just lots of sleeping!
