Eli's 7th Birthday

Eli and his first grade class celebrating his birthday
Eli was very particular about where he wanted his party and who he wanted to invite this year. He even specified that he wanted a lemon cake with vanilla icing. The party was at Locomotion Inflatable Play, our favorite bouncy place. Eli invited all boys except Mia, of course! He also requested an army themed party, which means army cake, plates, napkins, and table cloth. I like low maintenance parties! It was fun all around!

Eli is getting taller!

Easter 2013

John was in Germany for work during Easter this year. Not only that, he was away for two weeks! Somehow we survived.

Jed's bunny impression. I wish I would've gotten a picture or video of Max's bunny impression (wearing the ears while naked and hoping around)

Soccer

Eli and Jed both played soccer last spring. This was the first time Jed got to play, and he was so excited about it. John coached Jed's team, which was fun and entertaining for both the kids and the parents! He was his usual silly self with the kids and had them do funny celebration dances after goals and games within the game, like chase the goat into the cave. The kids took him seriously, which is what they're supposed to do with their coach, but it made John's tactics even funnier!

It was a little crazy on Saturdays with both boys having games, but it wasn't bad since their games were on the same campus. I think we're going to do the same this fall!
Jed's had a few friends on his team. (Luke-above, Marley, and Maya)

A teaching moment

I debated posting this one, but it really is too good not to share. Eli created this piece of art all by himself. Apparently, he and his friend, Kian, had been talking about what exactly is a bitch. We had the Pandora music station on our tv and a song called Sexy Bitch came on. (side note: since then we have discovered that you can block songs with questionable lyrics)  So this is the definition that Eli came up with. We had to tell him what a bitch is and how some words aren't appropriate to use, etc. The Disney characters add so much more to this note.  At least his grammar and handwriting are good! (another side note: Kian never got the note, but I did show his parents the note and they thought it was hilarious!)
