Soccer

Eli and Jed both played soccer last spring. This was the first time Jed got to play, and he was so excited about it. John coached Jed's team, which was fun and entertaining for both the kids and the parents! He was his usual silly self with the kids and had them do funny celebration dances after goals and games within the game, like chase the goat into the cave. The kids took him seriously, which is what they're supposed to do with their coach, but it made John's tactics even funnier!

It was a little crazy on Saturdays with both boys having games, but it wasn't bad since their games were on the same campus. I think we're going to do the same this fall!
Jed's had a few friends on his team. (Luke-above, Marley, and Maya)

Jed's description of John

He came up with this at school for the Dad's Day celebration. What's even better is that it's pretty accurate!  Priceless!
"My daddy's name is John Perkins. I think he's 36. He looks good when he wears his black shirt every day. I tell him to wach it but he doesn't. I know he's smart because he can jump very high in the sky on the trampoline. I know he loves me because he tickles me and says, "I love you Jed, bye" when he goes to work. Jed's advice to dad: You shouldn't tickle my armpits because it hurts."

Jed and Jesus

This is Jed's drawing of himself with his heart, Jesus with stretched out arms, and God (in the middle), all inside his body.  I love this sweet drawing!

Jed turns 4!

I am finally posting about Jed's birthday now that it's almost Max's birthday next week!  Jed had a great birthday. He celebrated his birthday at his school with some birthday cookies for his class at snack time. His birthday fell on a Saturday this year, so he woke up to birthday pancakes and presents. Then we had our usual party at the park, and it was a hit! Jed chose a Lego Star Wars theme this year.

Jed is definitely a typical four year old. He's becoming more independent by helping himself to snacks, making himself lunch, and doing chores and getting money each week. He's also started to draw very detailed pictures and color very neatly in the lines. He's quite the artist! Jed is counting and writing numbers and letters, too. My favorite number that he says is "eleventeen". He says some funny words I want to remember, like "seer-ee-up" for syrup and the way he says past tense works, like "waketed up" for woke up or "runded" for ran. Jed is also in the beginning stages of learning to ride his bike with pedals!

The years go by so fast! I wish I could remember every detail! That is one reason I do this blog...helps me remember.

Jed's first day of preschool

Jed is now in the three year old class at Faith Preschool. (Yes, he's four, but he has that September birthday so he'll always be one of the oldest in his class). Jed loves his teacher, and has met a new best friend named Luke.  Apparently all the kids in Jed's class love him...who wouldn't?? We love Faith! I'm looking forward to another year there!
